BmoreArt is an award-winning online and print publication that builds awareness, equity, and community through critical dialogue about art and culture in Baltimore. BmoreArt documents a unique arts community on a daily basis with diverse team of writers, editors, and artists and presents it to a local, national, and international audience.

Cara Ober founded BmoreArt in 2007, after recognizing that Baltimore had no comprehensive art-centric source of information for events and for critical dialogue. Over the past decade, BmoreArt has grown to include The BmoreArt Journal of Art + Ideas, a biannual print journal, an ongoing speaker series, and an engaged presence on social media. Designed to encourage participation and inclusion in the region, BmoreArt publishes a weekly ‘Picks’ post with a curated list of the best exhibits and events.

In addition, the site includes a calendar of cultural events , a gallery and resource guide, a weekly e-newsletter,  call for entry page updated on a daily basis, and numerous opportunities to participate, share, and comment.

“Working with the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation has allowed BmoreArt to grow from an artist-run blog into a professional online and print magazine with a national reach. It has always been our goal to promote the work of Baltimore artists to a local and national audience and to pay high caliber writers to produce vivid, critical, and widely consumed content. We have been able to expand to produce a biannual full color print journal, The BmoreArt Journal of Art + Ideas, and to create several speaker series including The ReModel series, providing free professional development to Baltimore’s artists.” – Cara Ober, Founding Editor
