BmoreArt was launched in 2007 by artist, curator, and professor Cara Ober. Noting the lack of a comprehensive source for local events and openings, Ober saw a need for a contemporary art publication dedicated to Baltimore's visual-art scene. BmoreArt publishes original reviews, interviews, and essays on a daily basis and keeps artists and art enthusiasts informed of gallery openings, art exhibits, museum events, and calls for entry.

The publication has grown substantially over the past several years, and, in fall 2013, it underwent a significant site re-design. BmoreArt has added a growing roster of editors, writers and photographers, with both publishing experience and deep roots in the local arts community. In 2014, BmoreArt expanded to a biannual print publication which offers a thematic glimpse into Baltimore’s cultural landscape.

As Baltimore's creative class continues to grow, the presence of high-quality discussion, critique, and observation becomes ever more essential to a healthy creative ecosystem. Accordingly, BmoreArt is a perpetual catalyst for Baltimore's burgeoning arts-and-culture sector.

The Deutsch Foundation provides funding to support website development and compensation for editors, writers and photographers.
